com o nome de CRUSH EVIL. Desde o início a banda manteve uma postura ousada ao fazer uso de "corpse-paint" e de praticar um estilo novo e agressivo, que incorporava elementos de Thrash, Death e Doom Metal. Logo, a banda adotou o termo "Sorrow Metal" a "Black Metal", pois na época, a cena extrema de metal escandinava estava totalmente envolvida com Satanismo. No início da carreira, a demo "The Defeat of Satan" foi lançada em 150 cópias. Em 1992 após uma reforma, a banda passa a se chamar ANTESTOR. Em 1993 já com um novo nome e com a entrada de Gard (Vegard Undal) no baixo e Armoth (Svein Sander) na bateria, lança mais uma demo-tape chamada "Despair" (600 cópias) através da Strawberry Records e consegue incluir a música "Jesus, Jesus, Ver Du Hjå Meg" em uma coletânea só com bandas da região chamada "Romerrikes Vakreste".
